Sannapanda is a range of handmade accessories for you, your home and your travels. All the products are designed, printed & made by Sanna King, in her workshop in Hackney.
Originally studied Footwear & Accessories at Cordwainers College when it was still on Mare St, moved back to the area few years later to set up a studio space with other designer/makers. Has started building the business, while also working in other jobs including upholstery and stop-motion animation.
Have collaborated with other makers as part of various collectives to showcase their work at events including Thames Festival, London Design Festival and Hidden Art Open Studios.
Currently working predominantly with felt for its tactile and insulating properties, to produce hot-water bottle covers and eyemasks, that are both soft and cosy to wear and use. Inspiration for the screenprinted collection comes from holidays spent in her mother's native country, Finland. The illustrations were created using scissors and scalpel rather than pen or paintbrush! However, the Hearty Set was inspired by a scene in the movie Breakfast at Tiffany's, when Audrey Hepburn opens the door with eyemask atop her head, and tasselled plugs in her ears. Other products in the range include brooches, pocket mirrors, cards and cushions.
